Paradoxes are just self-contradictory statements. Paradoxes play an important role in the development of the core principles and foundation of mathematics and logic. Without paradoxes, it would most likely many more decades or possibly centuries for our current modern world to develop, filled with phones, internet and electrical appliances. The objective of this study is to define and elaborate what a paradox is, give some examples of paradoxes and explain why paradoxes are important for the development of mathematics, logic and philosophy.
